Bluebird Bakery – experienced full time baker wanted.

Due to expansion into new premises in central York, we are looking for a talented baker to join Bluebird Bakery.

An understanding and passion for long fermented breads (particularly sourdough), hand-moulding, ovens and bench-work is essential.  You will be involved in all aspects of bread making including the development of new products. The ideal candidate will be able to slot quickly into the current small team and be willing to adapt and evolve with the changes involved in a small, rapidly growing business. 

The position includes night shifts over four days a week [40 hours], working alone or, on occasion, as part of a small team. On-going training is provided and a profit-based bonus scheme will be available. Salary is negotiable dependent on experience and skill level.

Bluebird Bakery was born from a desire to re-establish the connection between what we eat and where our food comes from. By using local organic flour, wild and organic yeast and employing traditional long-fermentation methods, we create hand-crafted loaves which need no flour improvers, saturated fats or other additives. This is an exciting time for Bluebird Bakery, with new premises allowing increased capacity and growth for an already thriving business. Aside from a shop on the premises, we also attend local markets and have some great wholesale customers.
